Matt Estlea trained at Rycotewood Furniture Centre in Oxford and then took a place as artist in residence at the Sylva Wood Centre. He taught furniture making at Rycotewood before leaving in September 2021 to work on his own business full time, which includes tools, project packs and his Free Online Woodworking School.
In this twelve-minute video he makes a sanding block for the bench. A flat, true block is one of the cheapest tools in the workshop and one of the most used, from levelling a glue line to breaking an edge before finishing.
