Video: Priory Polishes, YouTube
Priory Polishes is a UK maker of traditional restoration products, hand-mixing furniture, clock and metal polishes for more than twenty years. In this short film they restore an antique Gillows writing desk and fit a new leather to the writing surface.
The chapters cover sanding the surface, lifting old glue with a chisel, and reviving the polish with reviver and steel wire wool before the new leather goes down.
Each issue this slot carries one video from a working maker showing a technique, a tool or a repair. The video is the maker's own and plays from their channel; we add the context. Send yours to editor@thefurnituremagazine.com.
