Upholsterer / Furniture Upholsterer - Contract and Commercial Seating

An established West Midlands designer and manufacturer of commercial and contract furniture is looking for experienced Upholsterers to join its growing upholstery team in Brierley Hill, Dudley (DY5). The company designs and makes its furniture in its own UK factory, including soft seating, sofas, booths and banquette seating for offices, universities, hospitals, restaurants and reception areas. This is not track work. The factory is not a production line: most projects are completed from start to finish, so you upholster a piece through to a finished product rather than repeating one stage. A dedicated sewing team and a foam preparation team work alongside the upholstery team, so your time is spent on the upholstery itself. It suits an experienced Upholsterer, Furniture Upholsterer, Contract Upholsterer or Trimmer with at least two years at the bench who takes pride in a clean, consistent finish. The role - Upholstering commercial and contract seating from start to finish, including sofas, chairs, soft seating, booths and banquette seating - Working with covers and foams prepared by the in-house sewing and foam teams - Producing a consistent, high-quality finish with a keen eye for detail - Working as part of a friendly, skilled upholstery team making UK-manufactured furniture What you will need - At least two years' hands-on upholstery experience (essential), for example in contract furniture, commercial seating, sofa and chair manufacturing or bespoke upholstery - The ability to take a piece through to a finished standard yourself, not just one stage of the process - A keen eye for detail and pride in your work - A positive, can-do attitude What is on offer - £16.02 to £16.56 per hour, negotiable depending on experience - Full-time, permanent position - All tools and uniform provided - Company pension - Health and wellbeing programme - Company events - On-site parking - A pleasant factory to work in, with a staff area to relax, eat and watch TV during breaks - A flexible employer that genuinely looks after its team, and a Real Living Wage employer If you are an Upholsterer in Dudley, Brierley Hill, Stourbridge, Halesowen, Kingswinford, Wolverhampton, Walsall, Kidderminster or Birmingham and want varied upholstery work rather than a production line, we would love to hear from you.
